Axis Counselling
Axis is an independent specialist support service for survivors of all types of sexual violence and have been providing specialist counselling & support to people affected by abuse for 30 years.
We will provide a safe, secure and confidential space where you will be listened to and supported in a respectful, empathic and non-judgemental way.
We understand how difficult it can be taking that first step and asking for help. Axis counsellors will work with you on a one-to-one basis tailoring our support to meet your needs, helping you to understand more about your own situation, how and why this is impacting on your life, and give you the tools to be better able to cope and recover.
Our Counselling Service offers support for women, men, young people and children (aged 11 upwards) who have experienced non-recent (historic) childhood sexual abuse; any form of sexual assault, sexual violence, sexual exploitation or rape. Please note: if you are aged 11-17 please ask a parent or guardian to make the referral on your behalf
Confidentiality is key and your wishes will be respected throughout.
As a victim of sexual violence you may experience a wide range of emotions and reactions and be unsure or uncertain where to turn. They are also there to ensure your safety and the safety of others who may be at risk. Axis has safeguarding policies and obligations if you, someone else or a child is a serious risk of harm, this will be explained this from the outset.
Our team will treat everything in the strictest confidence and be guided by your wishes.
- Our aim is to create an environment in which everyone feels safe, valued and respected.
- We aim to deliver the highest standards of care to clients, who will be treated with courtesy and respect by all staff.
